Update from Pastor: We are planning out first return service on Father's Day (June 21).
It has been a long time since we have been able to worship together in our building. Hopefully we have all been worshipping our Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, from our homes each week. The home services are still available and will continue being available along with the daily devotions, all you need to do is ask or you can find them on the website. (www.gilbertcommunityumc.org)
I personally have missed seeing everyone on Sunday mornings and others have expressed the same, so welcome to our first service back in our building. Several people have worked hard cleaning so the building is ready for this Sunday’s service.
Even though we are in our church building, worship still cannot return to normal yet. We are to wear masks and keep the correct social distancing (6 feet) between households. We ask that as you enter the sanctuary, you find a seat where chocolate crosses have been laid. Please take them with you to enjoy later. If there are not enough for those present, know that there are some available at the end of the service for those attending, but didn’t receive one.
We are not yet able to sing during the worship service for than the distancing would be expanded to 12 feet, so for the present we will be worshipping without hymns or music. At the end of the service, we are required to dismiss by pews so the social distancing may be maintained.
Offering plate is at the back by the double doors, please leave your offering as you enter or leave the building.
I look forward to seeing you all again on next Sunday!
